Orders began at 22:00 on February 27 (China time). Xiaomi received 6,900 orders in the first 10 minutes and broke the 10,000 sales barrier in two hours. Customers can place orders by paying a deposit of 20,000 yuan ($2,700). This deposit can be refunded within a week, and the order is finalized after the deadline. A non-refundable deposit of 40,000 yuan ($5,500) is also offered for customers who want to receive their orders earlier.
